Amália in America – Beyond Fado
Carnegie Hall – 2025
The second performance, on October 11, 2025, at the iconic Carnegie Hall in New York—the debut of the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra in the US—was a FLAD production celebrating its 40th anniversary, with High Patronage of the President of the Republic, support from the Ministry of Culture, Visit Portugal, TAP, and the Amália Rodrigues Foundation. It brought together the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jan Wierzba, with soloists Cristina Branco, Raquel Tavares, and Ricardo Ribeiro, totaling over 100 artists on stage, including 83 musicians and original orchestrations by Carlos Azevedo, Daniel Bernardes, Filipe Raposo, Pedro Duarte, and Pedro Moreira. The show recreated Amália’s historic concert with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl in 1966, exalting the universality of Portuguese music before the vast Luso-American community.

Amália Hoje
2025
After touring the country in 2024 with the 25-15 tour, the Amália Hoje project—bringing together the voices of Sónia Tavares (The Gift), Fernando Ribeiro (Moonspell), and Paulo Praça, with compositions by Nuno Gonçalves (The Gift)—returned in March 2025 to the Coliseus do Porto and de Lisboa, presenting new songs in a unique show. Launched in 2009, its debut album achieved triple platinum (+70,000 units), driven by “Gaivota”, revitalizing Amália for the general public, followed by sold-out seasons at the same venues, recorded on the 2010 live album. The project has the support of the Amália Rodrigues Foundation.

Grande Gala do Flamenco

The Salão Preto e Prata of Casino Estoril hosted the Grande Gala do Flamenco, a memorable show that honored Porrina de Badajoz, the Marquês do Flamenco, and Amália Rodrigues, the Queen of Fado, on the centenary of the singer’s birth. It brought together 13 flamenco artists and fado singers Fábia Rebordão and Jorge Fernando, intertwining dance, song, and guitar in a celebration of the friendship and cultural influences between flamenco and fado.

Tribute to the life and work of Amália Rodrigues. Promoted by Égide, the concert marking the 25th anniversary of the queen of fado’s death took place in the Grande Auditório of the Centro Cultural de Belém, in Lisbon, bringing together the Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa, conducted by Jan Wierzba, with soloists Cristina Branco, Raquel Tavares, and Ricardo Ribeiro. One of the highlights of this show was the recreation of Amália Rodrigues’ iconic concert with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl in 1966, an event that underscored the universality and enduring charm of Portuguese music. In total, over 100 artists took the stage, including 83 orchestra musicians, three soloists, one conductor, and 25 singers, with orchestrations by Carlos Azevedo, Daniel Bernardes, Filipe Raposo, Pedro Duarte, and Pedro Moreira.

Amália Sinfónico – As Maiores Canções da Rainha do Fado em Versão Sinfónica

Tribute promoted by Grupo Chiado on the 25th anniversary of Amália Rodrigues’ passing, on October 6, 2026. On the symbolic date of her departure, the Orquestra Clássica de Lisboa, with over 40 musicians under the direction of conductor Rui Pinheiro, reinterprets the fado singer’s greatest hits in thrilling symphonic arrangements. Amália’s iconic voice guides the show, with Anabela as the main soloist. Projections of rare photos and videos renew her spirit, attracting new generations to the magic of fado at venues like Coliseu dos Recreios, Casino Estoril, and Coliseu Micaelense.

O Fabuloso Destino de Amália» Radionovela Teatral

It is a show produced by Associação Sempre Ligados, intertwining three narratives on stage. A radio announcer revives the history of Fado and its protagonists; Amália’s life comes alive with Adelmo, Carla Pires, Luanda Cozetti, Luís Pucarinho, and Carla Pontes, narrated by Raquel Bulha. Eleven live musical moments recreate the fado singer’s hits and other genres represented by the characters, in an immersive experience written by António Pires and directed by Carlos Norton.

Amália & Orquestra

Cuca Roseta presented a tribute concert to Amália Rodrigues at Culturgest, in Lisbon, on November 3, 2023. Accompanied by the Orquestra do Algarve, the fado singer performed the diva’s greatest classics, revisiting the repertoire from her album “Amália por Cuca Roseta”, in a solidarity show in favor of the Amália Rodrigues Foundation.

Amália – Gala do Centenário

Show with High Patronage of the Presidency of the Republic, presented by the Amália Rodrigues Foundation and VIBES & BEATS, at the Coliseus de Lisboa and Porto. It celebrates the artistic richness of Amália Rodrigues, bringing together fado singers such as Cuca Roseta, Gonçalo Salgueiro, Joana Amendoeira, Kátia Guerreiro, and Ricardo Ribeiro on stage. Accompanied by Pedro de Castro (Portuguese guitar), André Ramos (fado viola), and Francisco Gaspar (bass), they highlight the diversity of her work. Lúcia Moniz recites Amália’s original poems, evoking her poetic and musical legacy.
Bem-vinda sejas, Amália

On the day Amália Rodrigues would have celebrated 100 years of life, July 23, 2020, the Amália Rodrigues Foundation presented the concert “Bem-Vinda Sejas, Amália” at Herdade Amália Rodrigues, in Brejão, Odemira municipality. Organized in partnership with the Odemira Municipal Council and broadcast live by RTP1, the event featured a luxury cast: Jorge Fernando, Ricardo Ribeiro, Kátia Guerreiro, José Gonçalez, Marco Rodrigues, Filipa Cardoso, Fábia Rebordão, and Sara Correia. The concert’s title is inspired by a popular poster from a film about Amália, symbolizing the genuine welcome of the Portuguese people to the artist who elevated fado, the Portuguese language, and Portugal’s image in the world. Held at Amália’s seaside vacation retreat, the show evoked her genius on stage through a fado repertoire celebrating her life, career, and cultural legacy.

Show produced by Sonhos em Cena, as part of the centenary commemorations, toured various regions of mainland Portugal.

The Vox Angelis group’s shows in homage to Amália Rodrigues are multimedia productions, co-produced with the Amália Rodrigues Foundation, for the centenary of her birth. They bring to the stage iconic fados such as “Com que voz”, “Que estranha forma de vida”, “Gaivota” and “Fado Amália”, with historical narration, 200 unpublished photographs, and instrumental themes by Armandinho and Raul Nery. Presented in venues like Maia, Sertã, Anadia, and Lisbon, they celebrate the “voice of Portugal”.

After sold-out shows in Portugal’s largest venues, the “Amar Amália” project went beyond borders and was presented at the Palais des Congrès de Paris, bringing together different Portuguese artists to honor the memory and legacy of Amália Rodrigues. Under the musical direction of Marino de Freitas, it featured Luís Guerreiro on Portuguese guitar, Flávio Cardoso on fado viola, Marino de Freitas on bass, Vicky Marques on percussion, and Rúben Alves on keyboards.

The Amar Amália shows are tribute concerts that revisit, on stage, the great classics from Amália Rodrigues’ repertoire, in versions faithfully respectful but with contemporary energy. They bring together some of the most relevant names in Portuguese music such as Aurea, Cuca Roseta, Marco Rodrigues, Marisa Liz, Paulo de Carvalho, and Sara Correia who, accompanied by a live band, give voice to immortal themes as a way to celebrate “the voice of Portugal” in the country’s major venues.
