Vicente Rodrigues, Chairman of the Board of Directors, is a University Professor at ISCTE (Lisbon’s university institute), member of the Scientific Council of the Marketing Futurecast Lab, President of the Alumni Clube ISCTE, and Co-director of the Executive master’s in marketing management (ISCTE). He was President of GIEM ISCTE, Lisboa Ginásio Clube, and the Portuguese Association of Marketing Professionals, manager at CTT, Grupo Nabeiro, and Infortec/Tack International. Co-author of 14 books in Management, including Mercator na Era Digital, Humanator-Recursos Humanos e Sucesso Empresarial, Publicitor 360º, and Marketing Trends. Business consultant and lecturer.
Francisco Velez Roxo, Administrator, is a business manager since 1978, with professional experience in profit-making organizations and non-profit ones. Lecturer since 1977 successively in the Management Schools ISCTE, ISEG, UCP (all in Lisbon), in topics of Strategy, Marketing, Industrial Operations, and Services. Special emphasis, in the last 10 years, on Management of Health and Social Organizations.
Isabel Azevedo, Administrator. Bachelor’s in business administration and MBA. She began her career as an organization and management consultant in 1989 at Coopers & Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers). She coordinated strategic and organizational impact projects in large and medium size companies in various sectors, from industry to services. Nowadays, she combines her experience in consulting and coaching to support leaders and teams in their personal and business change processes. More recently, she co-founded nobox with two physicians, a project for healthcare professionals that aims to achieve happier and patient-centric teams. She collaborates with Católica Lisbon | Executive Education in its executive programs, teaching topics such as Teamwork, Leadership and Creativity.
Luís Andrade, Administrator, Civil Engineer. In 1976, he began working as a civil engineer in the Portuguese Ministry of Education, having been involved in the management and supervision of works in buildings of various levels of education. He worked in construction companies linked to the management and coordination of works. He was Director of the Regional Direction of the CTT (Portuguese Post Office company) of the South and of the Commercial Direction of the CTT of Lisbon, Director of Philately – having in this capacity integrated and chaired the World Association for the Development of Philately, Director of the National Service Network of the CTT (own network and third-party network), Communication Director of the CTT, and Administrator and President of the Portuguese Communications Foundation.
Agostinho Pereira de Miranda is a lawyer, university professor, philanthropist, and amateur fado singer. He is Founding partner and President of the General Assembly of the law firm Miranda & Associados. As a guest lecturer, he taught at the law schools of the University of Lisbon, ISCTE, the Portuguese Catholic University, the Eduardo Mondlane University (Mozambique), and the Agostinho Neto University (Angola). He is president and main financier of the associations “Propública”, “Salvar Sintra”, and “Amigos dos Escuteiros de Sintra”. He sings, studies, and writes fado lyrics, having recorded in 2019 Fado de Lei. He writes in the general press on legal and sociological issues and is the author of two books and dozens of scientific articles dealing with matters of Law. Passionate cyclist, he has made the Bicycle Tour of Portugal.
António Campos was born and lived in Brejão (Odemira, Portugal) until the age of 17, joined the Air Force in 1972 as a volunteer, and retired from the PAF (Portuguese Air Force), with the rank of Sergeant Major, after 40 years of effective service. He served at several air bases, including B.A.12 in Bissalanca, Guinea-Bissau. He spent 3 years at the Embassy of Portugal in Madrid, in the Military Attaché’s Office; 3 years in the OTAN in Oeiras (Portugal); 5 years in the National Security Authority; 10 years in the General Staff of the Armed Forces, where he finished his career, passing to the reserve and returning to his origins – Brejão. He is currently active in social activities, being the President of the Cultural Centre of Brejão, President of the Fiscal Council of the Nursing Home of S. Teotónio (Odemira), and member of the General Board of the Amália Rodrigues Foundation.
Carlos Coelho is one of the great Portuguese references in the field of brand construction and management. Throughout his 34-year career, he has led hundreds of projects from some of the most relevant brands in Portugal, such as Multibanco, Galp, RTP, CTT, TAP, Sata, Sonae, Delta, Fidelidade, Sogrape, The Navigator Company, Portugal Sou Eu, among many others. He is the author of several studies on trends and theoretical models of brands. He is an activist on the causes and brands of Portugal, and he is the author of the book Portugal Genial. He is a professor, lecturer, and collaborator of numerous national and foreign publications. He is an advisor to several institutions; president of Ivity Brand Corp, and of the Portugal Genial Association, where he promotes the best of Portugal.
Francisco Leiria Viegas attended the Journalism course at the Escola Superior de Meios de Comunicação Social. He holds a degree in Economics and Sociology from Lisbon’s Nova University, and a Marketing Management course from MCE, Brussels Professional Activity. He was Professor of Secondary Education, Director of the CTT, in the Philately, Commercial and International Relations areas, General Director and Chairman of the Executive Council of the CTT, President of the Portuguese Communications Foundation, and Administrator and consultant of several companies.
Frederico Santiago is a lyric tenor trained at the National Conservatory of Music and is a member of the Choir of the National Theatre of São Carlos in Lisbon. He is also a researcher, responsible for the comprehensive edition of Amália Rodrigues' discography, a significant contribution to the preservation and promotion of her artistic legacy. In 2019, he also coordinated the reissue of the works of Maria Teresa de Noronha.
Jorge Chaminé is a Portuguese baritone and educator, recognized both for his career as an opera singer and for his work as a teacher and cultural promoter. He is the founder of the European Music Center (CEM), an institution based in France dedicated to music education, research, and cultural exchange across Europe. Since 2012, he has been a professor and tutor at Stanford University, and he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Yehudi Menuhin International Foundation since 2015, as well as a member of the Board of Europa Nostra since 2019. Among his honors, he has been named Officier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government (2018), awarded the Grand Vermeil Medal by the city of Paris (2019), and received the European Helena Vaz da Silva Award for the Promotion of Cultural Heritage.
Jorge Fernando is a Portuguese musician and producer. He played guitar, accompanying Amália in shows, replacing Alcino Frazão. With several albums released over the years, the highlight goes to Memória e Fado (2005), recorded in Portugal and Brazil, which contains an excerpt from a live performance of Amália Rodrigues, recorded in 1994, with the theme “Vida”. He also participated in the RTP Song Festival in 1985, with “Umbadá”.
José Manuel dos Santos is a writer, curator, programmer, and cultural manager. He is the administrator and cultural director of the EDP Foundation, director of the magazine Electra, administrator of the Arpad Szenes-Vieira da Silva Foundation, and director of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the National Museum of Ancient Art. From 1986 to 2006, he served as cultural advisor to the Presidency of the Republic. He is the author of poetry, fiction, and essays on literary, artistic, and political topics. He has curated several visual arts exhibitions.
José Manuel Rodrigues, the only son of Amália’s brother, Filipe Rebordão, a boxer, is one of Amália’s heirs. He is a programmer and has worked for 14 years at Petrogal.
Luís Osório is a writer and journalist with eleven published books, the most recent being A Última Lição de Manuel Sobrinho Simões (Contraponto, 2024). He is a daily columnist on Antena 1, where he hosts the program Postal do Dia. Based on his book Ficheiros Secretos – Histórias Nunca Contadas da Política e da Sociedade Portuguesas, which he adapted into a highly successful monologue, he toured the country and sold out iconic venues such as the Tivoli Theatre in Lisbon and the Casa da Música in Porto.
Maria da Conceição Martins de Carvalho, graduated in Social Work (ISSSP), and has the Complementary Course of Cultural Anthropology (ICSP) and the Course of Arts Management (INA). Professional career in Public Administration for 38 years and in Theatre Production for 20 years. Since March 2021, she has been a member of the Board of APOIARTE/Casa do Artista.
Maria de Lourdes de Carvalho, announcer, radio, and record producer; co-founder of record labels and director of others; journalist in several magazines in the show business. In 2013, she published the 2nd verse book for Fado, Meu Peito Rasgado a Fogo, and, in 2016, the photobiography of Tonicha, Tonicha. A eterna Menina. She belonged for 16 years to the Board of Directors of Casa do Artista / Apoiarte; she was part of the Fiscal Council of SPA and has 17 years as Counselor of the Amália Rodrigues Foundation. She was responsible for the Gala de Prémios Amália Rodrigues in 2013 and 2014.
Paula Cristina Cunha is Administrator of the Portuguese Society of Authors, having 18 years of experience as a manager in the Portuguese Public Administration. Executive coordinator of the “Estratégia Regional Lisboa 2020” and responsible for other regional strategic programs. She is also a researcher at the University of Lisbon.
Pedro Antunes de Almeida holds a degree in Economics and Sociology from Lisbon’s Nova University and a postgraduate degree in European Economic Studies from the Portuguese Catholic University. He also attended the course of Auditors of National Defence, at the National Defence Institute. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of the NAU HOTELS & RESORTS Group, Chairman of the Fiscal Council of Fidelidade, and member of the Fiscal Council of Galp Energia, SGPS. He was a consultant for the Economic and Business Affairs of the President of the Portuguese Republic, Aníbal Cavaco Silva; Secretary of State for Tourism (15th Portuguese Government); Ambassador to the Representation of Portugal to the World Tourism Organization (2003-06); Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pousadas de Portugal (1992-97); and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ICEP (1989-92). He was awarded the Comenda de Grande Oficial de Mérito Comercial (1995), he received the Medalha de Mérito Turístico (1997), and was recognized with the Comenda de Grande Oficial da Ordem do Infante D. Henrique (2016).
Sara Pereira holds a PhD in Art, Heritage, and Restoration from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon, with the dissertation Ecos do Silêncio, para um Estudo Iconológico do Fado (19th–21st centuries). As Director of the Fado Museum, she has led the executive coordination of Fado’s nomination for the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2005, also serving on the scientific committee alongside Rui Vieira Nery and Salwa Castelo-Branco. She attended the doctoral program Modes of Knowledge in Contemporary Artistic Practice (University of Vigo, Faculty of Pontevedra, 2004–2006), holds a postgraduate degree in Regional and Local History – Cultural Management from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon (1997), and earned a degree in History, specializing in Art History from the same institution (1996). Her academic research focuses on Art History and Contemporary Artistic Practices, Cultural Heritage, Museology, and Cultural Management. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the National Sound Archive and serves on the board of APOM – the Portuguese Museology Association. She was awarded the Medal of Cultural Merit by the Lisbon City Council (2012) and was honored with the Commander of the Order of Infante D. Henrique by the President of the Portuguese Republic (2015).
Rui Órfão, Administrator, artist, and performer, studied Civil Engineering at the University of Coimbra, having been a member of the Círculo de Artes Plásticas, and programmer at CITAC. He graduated in Architecture from FAUTL (Lisbon University Architecture Faculty). He works as an architect in his own office. He was awarded in 2003 in Energy Efficiency with the School and Kindergarten of Alto do Faia, and with the Korrodi awards in the Architecture Biennals of 2010 and 2012, with the requalification of Palácio Guerra and Casa do Terreiro, in Leiria. He is a consultant at the Portuguese Communications Foundations. He is represented in the art collections of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
Rui Vieira Nery is a musicologist, historian, and university professor. Since 2012, he has directed the Portuguese Language and Culture Program at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. He is the author of an extensive bibliography on the history of Portuguese music. He holds a PhD in Musicology from the University of Texas and has held various positions, including Secretary of State for Culture in the late 1990s. In 2009, he served as President of the Scientific Committee for Fado’s nomination as UNESCO Cultural Heritage.
Jorge Manuel Miranda Themudo Barata, born in 1952, graduated in Business Organization and Management, entrepreneur, manager, and business consultant, always in the private sector. Collaborates with the Amália Rodrigues Foundation since 2014.
