The Amália Awards aimed to enhance the name and image of what was and will continue to be the voice of the Portuguese Soul, but also to recognize the merit of those who, each year, made their contribution to keeping alive the greatness of Fado and, consequently, the greatness of Amália.
In this 10th edition, the Foundation decided that the Amália Rodrigues Prize would go to a personality or institution that had distinguished itself in the Portuguese artistic-cultural panorama and whose path was based on a career of merit, recognizing the greatness of its universalism.
In this sense, in the tenth edition of the Amália Awards, the recipient was Vítor Pavão dos Santos.
